This 2021 dated coin features a modernized depiction of Nike, the Greek mythological goddess of victory. This art deco styled rendition of the winged goddess is the work of American artist John Mercanti, a sculptor who retired from the post of 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver in 2010.
The coin is a product of the Perth Mint, struck from 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver.
The coin features a perfect high relief strike and a magnificent proof finish.

Gorgeous Winged Goddess Imagery
Obverse: The right facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by Jody Clark is located on the obverse, encircled by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA," "1 OZ 9999 AG," "2021" and "1 DOLLAR." Mr. Clark has been a sculptor/engraver for Great Britain's Royal Mint since 2012.
Reverse: The Mercanti designed reverse depicts Nike kneeling respectfully with her sword at her side, as she reaches forward to bestow laurels upon an unseen hero. "WINGED VICTORY" is boldly inscribed below, with the Perth Mint's "P" Mint mark located above, between the peaks of the goddess' wings.
